Music:
I've been referred to a couple of times now as a Soul Head. I don't deny this at all. There is something about listening to and singing soul music that touches me in a place no one can reach. One thing my mama always told me about music, don't ever listen to anything that you can't understand (jibberish) they may be talking about worshipping the devil for all you know, and don't limit yourself in the kinds of music that you like. It is because of this that I listen to (and try to be open to) just about anything, even country (there's some good stories in there y'all). Some of it, "if I dont like it, I dont like it, that don't mean that i'm hatin'", so says brotha Common, and I concur. Im willing to give it all a shot though.

My grandmama Corine...she was the most kind, loving, giving, encouraging, wonderful, and beautiful spirit I have EVER met. If I can be even a tenth of the woman that she was, I know I'll be alright in this life.......My mom (who was nominated for a Grammy this year in Best Choral Performance!!!) Im SO proud of her, and all that she's been able to do...trailblazing paths for young black women like me, my sisters and friends...she's an amazing woman.......Oprah...need I say more?!
