About Me

First of all, I love dogs. No matter what I do, my dog will always smile at me and want to snuggle when I come home. So there. Besides that, I suppose I'm a bit of an anomaly... I'm a literature nerd who works in porn. I'm thick-skinned, don't take shit from anybody but I cry my eyes out at sappy movies. I'm completely honest about myself yet I'm also guarded. I love traveling the world, but I'll never live anywhere but LA. My parents are the strangest people you'll meet but I've got the most stable family I know of. OK so here's the bitchy part (c'mon, you knew it was coming): I'm not going to add you unless I know you (or of you), or unless you're a hot chick (probably just because I want to photograph you). If you really just want me on your friends list go to my business profile-- it's the first "Holly Randall Photography" friend on my top friend list; I add everyone there. I'm not trying to be a snob, it's just when I need to find a specific friend on my list to contact, it's impossible to locate their profile if I have to randomly search through thousands of friends. And please don't send me a message that says "waz up" or "u wanna do it" because I'm not going to respond unless you have something mildly interesting to say.

My Interests

Reading, porn (i.e. work), photography, cooking, traveling, dogs, beautiful California afternoons, spanking, character building, learning, snowboarding...

I'd like to meet:

Someone intelligent, funny, unpretentious, and open minded. Oh yeah, and people who like my work! Check out www.hollyrandall.com to see if you qualify. ;) Who I don't want to meet: Someone who has a picture of their car in their profile, someone who voted for George Bush, and people who don't like dogs or don't read books. But basically if you are really artistically talented I will respect you no matter how big of a pain in the ass you are. Especially if you're a writer. I loooove writers.

Music:

Led Zeppelin (best band ever), Jane's Addiction, Eric Clapton, Beastie Boys, Pharcyde, Shakira (but ONLY in Spanish), Rolling Stones, Sublime, Portishead, Fugazi, The Pixies, anything blues or classical.

Movies:

Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail (best movie ever), Elizabeth, Braveheart, Office Space, Dangerous Liasons, Plain Dirty, Crash, Silence of the Lambs, L' Ultimo Bacio, Run Lola Run, Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, Garden State

Television:

Family Guy and the Simpsons, and anything on the History or Discovery Channel regarding religion, the Elizabethan era, or ancient Greek and Roman antiquity. But I grew up not being allowed to watch much TV so it's never been a big habit of mine.

Books:

The Sun Also Rises, The Nero Prediction (my dad's book, go buy it dammit), Wuthering Heights, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Memoirs of a Geisha, Delta of Venus, 100 Years of Solitude, The Sheltering Sky (well pretty much everything Bowles wrote), The Most Beautiful Woman in Town, Sexual Personae, White Oleander, The House of the Spirits, anything by Edgar Allen Poe

Heroes:

My parents and Hemingway

If It’s Too Loud, Then You’re Too Old

There's a saying that goes: "If it's too loud, you're too old." I remember seeing it on bumper stickers advertising my favorite heavy metal radio station as a kid. And I remember at the time, thinking...

I learned something today...

Back to School

I felt like I had come back home. The street bustled with students in UCLA sweatshirts, conversations of exams and groups of sorority girls planning their next soiree. Boys rolled past me on skateboa...

Deep Thoughts at Target

It was a simple weekend errand run to Target. It wasn't supposed to be a journey into the conflicted psyche of the modern woman. There I was, wheeling my shopping cart around the cr...
