GILDED LILY BIOG
This Lily was first Gilded by Iwan Gronow (bassist from the mighty ‘Haven’ – www.myspace.com/havenuk ). Our man began boldly venturing ‘out there’ on the side a couple of years ago, and ‘Gilded Lily’ soon grew out of his solo efforts.
‘Gilded Lily’ are currently working on taking the music live as a collective, having recruited a band and vocal additives to further stir the cauldron of audio-alchemy.
Brother’s for the cause were sought in all corners of the nation, and presently include the eclectic mix of Cardiff’s Mat Harding on drums (Ex-Mclusky), Manchester’s Andy Hewitt on lead guitar, and Cornwall’s Mickey Smith on guitar, keys and vox.
The music is dark and dream-like, with an edgy quality that takes open thought space to sonic explorers, via roots in 60’s psychedelia and the pushy angst of 70’s and 80’s punk.
Perhaps due to this subtle fusion of such strong flavours, ‘The Lily’ has already found itself soundtracking cinematics, most recently some of the worlds top surfing films – ‘The Road’ http://www.myspace.com/theroad06" and ‘The Mitch Vid’ http://www.riptidemag.com.au/mitchvid/
