In the beginning of 2000 some major decisions were being made. Derrick Carter had to decide if he should continue investing in promotions for the already privileged artist, or cater to talented artists that were still on the rise of a breakthrough. The contemplation ceased in May of 2002 when Mr. Carter teamed up with Jerry McCray to develop UM Entertainment Group.UM Entertainment is illustrated and governed by CEO, Derrick Carter whom as an adolescent decided that entrepreneurship would be his main objective from a career standpoint. His acute knowledge of business organization led him to believe that it was imperative he position devoted, hardworking and dependable individuals on his team. Jerry McCray is head of Marketing, ensuring that UM presents the best products available. His creative concepts help to grapple the attention of the company’s targeted consumers.UM Entertainment is capitalizing on DVDs, short films, music and promotions so that the empire that Derrick once imagined as an adolescent will become a reality. Success is destined because failure is not an option! There are venues to conquer, revenue to obtain and business to handle. Hard work and dedication “PAYS” off and as Derrick would say, “Get money until its ugly!”
