About Me

Hi, I'm Diane. I have been living in the High Desert since 1989. Widowed since 2002. Still have not gotten use to the idea of being alone. Children are all grown and moved away from Barstow. I enjoy taking walks in the evening to watch the sunset. Reading and listening to music helps to pass the time when I am not at work. Being on the computer is also a good time passer. Like to get with friends occasionally and have a Starbucks Coffee and just unwind. Living in the desert is a plus because it gives me the opportunity to ride quads and go off-roading which I really like doing and the scenery is so different and unique here in the desert. Love riding motorcycles (as a passenger) and I collect statues of dragons which I find very interesting. I really like dogs and I have two small dogs who keep me company on walks. Most of my friends say that I am just a big kid at heart - hence all the colorful graphics on my site. Also a huge Dallas Cowboy Football fan. Life is to short to be serious all the time.

Reading, watching movies, riding quads and spending time with people that I like and care for. Love the outdoors - camping, fishing, backyard BBQ's and just being outdoors.

People without a lot of drama in their life! I get enough of that at work. I am just trying to meet some nice people to chat and unwind with at the end of a long day.

Music:

I like a variety of music. What I listen to depends on the mood that I am in. I like music from the 60's on up (older rock and roll), Country and Blues.

Movies:

I like most every kind of movie from action to musicals. Really got into the "Lord of the Rings" movies and "Harry Potter". I watch a lot of Stephen King movies. My all time favorites are the classics such as "Gone with the Wind", "Ben Hur", "Ghandi" and "The Wizard of Oz" with Judy Garland. Pirate movies are great to watch late at night.

Television:

Mainly I watch the news in the mornings and at night. Some of the reality shows on tv are fun to watch. I watch a lot of football during the season. Dallas Cowboy fan here! Also love NASCAR racing.

Books:

Into Stephen King big time. Love his books. I like to read the Harry Potter books also when I have time. I read a lot of Louis L'Amour and also like Sylvia Browne. She is an awesome writer.

Heroes:

My late husband and my children for doing their own thing and not conforming to somebody elses idea of what they "should" be doing with their lives.... For being themselves! Love you all.

Sad

Still so sad today about the death of one of my beloved dogs. Her name was Queenie Girl and she was the best dog I have ever had. She was only 10 years old and she died suddenly on Sunday,...
