About Me

The Givers and Takers are a four piece all-girl band deriving from Geelong, Victoria.Their evocative song writing and lyrics combine with an eclectic mix of acoustic, roots and indie sounds, creating a new brand of original music. The girls have performed at the 2005 and 2006 Queenscliff Music Festival and most recently won the 2007 Bended Elbow 'Battle of the Bands" in which they competed against over 20 Victorian bands.Since their humble beginnings playing their first gig at the Collendina Hotel, The Givers and Takers are continually widening their following, playing shows and festivals in Melbourne, Geelong and surf coast area.Annabel and Hayley were surrounded by musicians growing up with their fathers playing in several bands which has heavily influenced their style.Rachael finished school in 05' and in her years at Matthew Flinders she was a valued member of 'The Sweethearts of Swing', which allowed her to tour the country and play overseas.Kiri is a natural musician with a voice that is distinctly unique, she has written books full of songs that are way beyond her years. The Givers and Takers are an Australian rising talent which should not be missed.Contact G&T's Management email [email protected]
