I started dj-ing when I was 19. My only regret when I think of it now, is that I haven't started earlier... The first time I stood behind those turntables, I was lovin' it. And I still am. Dj-ing has changed a lot in these years and I've had some hard time accepting that records are losing their role... I was against the digital for a long time, but for the last 2 years, serato has changed and improved my skillz and my club set. In my heart, I am still "an old school soldier" and I still love and buy those records. And when I sometimes take 2 big heavy bags of 12" records to a party, just for thee feel of it, it takes me to the roots and the feeling is priceless.
I am proud that I still am the only lady hip hop DJ in Slovenia and that I have become as successful as I have. When I started spinning this was never in my mind. I get to do what I really love, I get to travel places and meet interesting people, who are also in love with this whole hip hop thing. I have performed all over Slovenia at almost all important clubs and venues. In the past two years, I spun clubs in Croatia, Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, Bosnia, Switzerland.
Of all the shows I've performed, being on the same stage as KRS-One in Ljubljana, getting the crowd ready for the teacher, that was the show I love to remember the most. Also, spinning before Camp Lo was very exciting. I love to spin from old school to nu school, r'n'b, whatever tunes I am feeling. I love to mix different styles in my sets. There were moments, when I was more into r'n'b, there were moments, when I was all hardcore hip hop. It really depends on my mood and on the club. I love to make people dance and have a good time, but I also like to show my skillz. I do some tricks in my sets, but just enough so it's still funky fresh.
