horns and axe are rarely the same twice for somethin' nice ;-)
Influences: Everyone under the sun! Looking at my sister's page, I'm reminded of how much she and my dad (and by extension my cousin Steve and the whole Bad Boys/Hotmix 5 crew in Chicago) shaped, not only my appreciation of, but my approach to, creating music. I love R&B and soul music. I'm from Chicago and I love to dance so I LUUUUUV house music and old disco classics. I was bred on jazz, funk, and R&B DIVAS- luvs me some Charlie Parker and damn near anything with a good horn line in it.

I like the greats and the unknowns. My current influences are Chanda Rule, Elisabeth Withers, and Chandra Simmons. And if you've never heard of these women, don't worry, you will! People you may have heard of, Stephanie Mills, Mariah Carey, Phyllis Hyman, Patti LaBelle, Randy Crawford (Crusaders), Chante Moore, Shanice Wilson, Tina Marie, Lauryn Hill, Amel Larrieux, Alicia Keys, John Legend, MC Lyte, and the list goes on and on and on...

I have an on-going love affair with Marvin Gaye :-) That's my man!Teddye gets my feathers ruffled. Prince, what can I say...
