Old Skool Metal

About Me

Next gig....Yet TBC!
------------------------------
We are Hollow Point
Hollow Point has taken several years to become the force it is today. Starting when former guitarist/singer John Carden and drummer Stuart Barker formed a small band toperfom in a school concert. This band came to an end when bassist Doug Arnold left for university, leaving Stuart and John to form a new band with long timefriend Mark Smith on Bass.
This line up lasted for a short few months playing very few gigs or original material. This was all to change when AndrewBarker (Stu's lil brother) was added to the line up and defined the sound. From here, Hollow Point went on to play many gigs with many well famed covers anda strong foundation of original material.
This again was short lived with the call of university now calling John away. This was a hard time for HollowPoint, being left with no singer or rhythm guitarist. Fortunately, their rhyhm was quickly replaced with Steven Balmer, again, changing the sound to a much more solid and heavy rock sound. The vocals were taken over by bassist Mark, having a much more aggressive and distinctive voice.
Now the band line up and sound has been truley defined. With influences ranging from Pantera to Filter the band has incorporated many styles and arrangements into their music making them a very distinguishable band. This line up was again to take a change with the departure of lead singer and bassist Mark. This left the band in uncertainty, and almost lead to the break up of the band, with remaining members struggling to keep the the faith...as it were.
Auditions began when Hollow Point decided this was the way to go. It turns out Andy, lead guitarist was the best to fill in the position of lead vocals, and the bass was taken over by Southport resident Andy Watson. andy's playing style and influence has created yet another chapter in the sounds of Hollow Point, helping write some of their heaviest material.
