SPOONBENDER 1.1.1 is the 'tele-ambient dream self' of I AM SPOONBENDER—the San Francisco-based 'populist avantronics' group. While I AM SPOONBENDER is designed for performing in concert halls and theaters, SPOONBENDER 1.1.1 influences the atmospheres of art galleries, modern dance events, and film soundtracks. SPOONBENDER 1.1.1 is not a side project- rather, it is a fully focused, smaller scale satellite extension of the central IAS concept. while there is some sonic crossover, the group's more challenging, textural, and soundtrack aspects are often found in the never-the-same-show-twice SPOONBENDER 1.1.1 .
