About Me
canadian-born author and mystic.
march 18, 1901 - august 29, 1990.
author of over 200 works.
MPH is a peerless scholar in the fields of comparative religion, mythology, mysticism, and the occult 'mystery school' teachings (ancient science, etc).
The scale of his bibliography alone is extraordinary. Its nearly 1,000 entries range from the core works of Egyptian/Sumerian/Babylonian/'ancient middle eastern'/Indian/Asian/south-central-north Native American/European pagan/Rosicrucian/Masonic philosophy to Pythagoras, Plato, Aristotle, and Augustine, to translations of the Gnostic, Nicene, and Hermetic literature, to the writings of Paracelsus, Levi, Hermes Trismegistus, Bacon, Basil Valentine, and Cornelius Agrippa, to works of every variety on the ancient and esoteric philosophies – magic, mythic, socio-political, stellar/astronomical, religious or metaphysical – that have expressed themselves in symbol or ceremony. In his over 70-year career, Hall delivered approximately 8,000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 200 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles. It is interesting to note, though, that none of the information in his books, is repeated in his 'automatic/notes-free' lectures...
it appears that most people consider his magnum opus to be The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy, which was published in 1928, at the age of 25. at the very least it is the best overview of his total scope...
in 1934 MPH founded the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles, California, dedicating it to an idealistic approach to the solution of human problems. the Society's programs stress the need for the integration of philosophy, religion, and science into one system of instruction. The PRS Library, a public facility devoted to source materials in obscure fields, has many rare and scarce items now impossible to obtain elsewhere (Carl Jung, when writing Psychology and Alchemy, borrowed material from his private collection).
MPH is just beginning to be widely recognized as the 20th century's foremost compiler and transmitter of the secret teachings of all ages.
