About Me

Victor Cruz is a versatile guitar player, composer and educator born in Northern Mexico. He has recorded and performed with numerous artists in Mexico, US, Brazil, Argentina and Canada .
He studied music at Fermata Academy of Music in Mexico City, a school incorporated to the Berklee International Network for Contemporary Music Education, tutored by pianist Mario Santos and guitarist Alberto Medina, becoming more interested in Jazz and improvisational music. In 2000 he moved to Chicago where he performed and recorded with many musicians and experimental jazz rock bands like Ballad for Optimus Prime and The Seems and toured the US Northeast.
Victor has participated in several master classes with outstanding musicians and instructors such as legendary guitarist Pat Martino, Steve Coleman, Jon Damian, Greg Badolato, Matt Marvuglio, Mamady Keita, Bill Pierce, Antonio Sanchez, Eddie Gomez, Eugenio Toussaint, Agustin Bernal and Enrique Nery. He has performed with great musicians from various backgrounds such as Bill Pierce, Carlos Maldonado, Demian Galvez, Karen Hack, Richard Underhill, Iain Green, Jamie Browning, Javier Saume, Richard Conti, Nicolas Santella, Alejandro Campos, Michael Hurwitz, Pedro Amui, Eric Pourcell, Ricardo Moraes, Arman Torus, Jason Farrar, Fernando Borges, Michel DeQuevedo, Andrea Pressburger, Mark Iwanski, G-Vine, Djalma Lima, William Torres, Gustavo Bugni, Michael Vuscan, Corey McCafferty and many others.
Currently living in Toronto, he works as a performer with Blues Element, Ainike, Geophone, Harbour Sharks and Sweet Malice - just to name a few - as well as a recording musician and educator.
