Cool Slideshows............................................. Hello, the present posture this articulation. It is in regards to our social crisis dealing with youth and gangs. My name is Arthur Gray, I've been a community activist in Bakersfield, California for the past 10 years. I started back in 1997 the death of Tyrone Murray at the corner of Hacienda Drive. 10 years ago. When I Arthur Gray, Michael Stewart's, Steve Wofford, John Billingsley, and many others. Started an anti-violence group called the Brothers revolution against violence. At this time we came to the city of Bakersfield, with information on up and rising gang and social problem. And we were laughed at, we were told that the gangs in Bakersfield were not like that. And besides this is Bakersfield. We warned former chief of police Eric Matlock, and many others in his administration. Many churches and pastors. But no one seems want to give a winning hand. Our target age group, was between the ages of five years in 12 years of age. And now we have 15 through 22 year old gang bangers and drive-by shooters. However I shall go deeper than that in this problem. Well let me correct that. This social crisis. I shall go all the way back to the 1960s with my parents ages. And those within 20 years of their age group. That counts for the 47 year olds through the 65 year old Black, African-Americans, and I'm not speaking of them all. Let me explain. Back in the 1960s, we had Malcolm X., Martin Luther King, and many others African-American leaders. With the ending of the late 60s, and throughout the 1970s, the African-American people. With the exception a few. Were more into drugs, partying, groupies sex, and many other things. So they forgot all about the advacement Black American people. And this led to the pill popping, a lucid genic acids, mushrooms, PCP, and many other drugs. In the advancement of African-American people's movement, and the education of youth, both symbolically and categorically started to fail and faded away. So the next generation. Has turned out to be KJ heads, ecstasy poppers, marijuana smokers, crackhead's, intravenous drug users, and so on. I will now go on to explain this. And in so I will not make an excuse for gang banging. However, I hoped I can give you a better understanding. When you have a young youth growing up in a home, with a mother that is on crack, KJ, ecstasy, or what ever. And there's a young teenage boy a girl in that home, with brothers and sisters that are starving because the mother sewed all the EBT in food stamps to get more drugs. That teenage youth, is trying to go to school with a nappy head, filthy nasty close, an empty stomach, being teased by other kids all day every day about what they don't have or how they look. With that growling stomach they can take the test their mind is not into it. Because her stomach is too busy growling. So the first $20 they come up with. They take it and buy a double up cocaine rock. However to sell that rocket in the hood, you have to belong. Or you will be robbed and killed. And everyone wonders where gang bangers are coming from. Look at the youth crimes of today. Have you noticed if there is no retaliation shootings?. I would say, that is because the people that are being shot. Are not gang bangers. And to be honest, most of the shooters. Are not even really gang bangers. Their kids that are just trying to survive, and that means by any and all means necessary. That's what happens, what society turns her back on a generation. You remember those five through 12 year olds that I spoke about. Those are your 15 through 22 year old carjacker's, drive-by shooters, drug dealers, drug users, ones that are filling up our state penal institutions. Everyone is trying to do something with the youth. And that is not the solution to the problem. Our shall I say social crisis. The answers with parents, and the law. We need to get back to the basics of the Bible. If you spare the rod and spoil the child. Our government has given our children, the most powerful tool in its arsenal that 911 phone call. A parent is afraid to even put their hand on her child. Because they may go to jail. But this is a day and age. With a paddle needs to be put back in elementary school, with the parents need to listen to the neighbors, and while mom that topic. Your neighbor could have been your friend from childhood. 30 or more years. And they come to you, and tell you something about your child, and you wanna go upside there head. You know back in the day, when I were growing up. If I had done something wrong, my neighbor it saw me do it. With spank me, when my parents got home, they would spank me, and God forbid my grandparents find out about it, because I had another one coming. Open up your Bible and read the book of Matthew's 24, and as it speaks of these days that we are in today, you will see. That the children are only fulfilling prophecies of the Bible. I can go on and on. But I will not however. My insight goes much deeper. Then this, and giving the opportunity. I can go into great detail, on these issues, and some possible solutions. Our local, state, or federal government, are not going to do anything about this problem/social crisis. Based on the fact that none of these youth in these communities owen any oil wells. So our government would much rather spend billions of dollars on other crisises in other countries rather than deal with our own crisis here. Do you see the US over Sudan, I would think not. Based on the fact that those people already been stripped of everything if they had in any hopes of anything they can achieve or receive. I will not continue to go on and on and on. However, our whole governmental body is in serious need of an enema, they are so full of crap. Please watch the video, that will be accompanying this articulation. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them "Status" or that they have achieved their Dream.They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has e ven jeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A "Talented Tenth" he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some "form" of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't read that the "Talented Tenth" was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are "helping" their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels.
