The late, great James Brown said it best when he said, “This is a man’s world….but it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl.” Women have fought long and hard to be recognized as a necessity in the working world and when it comes to the world of rap, women have fought just as long and just as hard. Twenty three year old Drak Boy Records princess, Kiyonne Goodman, who is both known and respected in the Tampa Bay area as Miss Jubilee, has seemed to have earned her place in the game. This Tampa native has been grinding in the studio for just under a decade to perfect her craft; a craft influenced by female hip-hop moguls like Bahamadia, Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim, and Foxy Brown. Ever since her early rap days, Miss Jubilee has been demonstrating her lyrical capacity, showing that she has plenty of punchlines and word play to hold her own weight in such a male dominated industry. The proof can be found in her recently released mixtape titled ‘Don’t Get Caught Sleeping,’ which contains hit singles like “Talk A lot” and “Er’body D*ck” where she speaks candidly about thuggin’ in the club and about females playing on her phone. With her newest track to hit the airwaves called “Do Me,” this shy, soft-spoken young woman delivers a certified anthem for the ladies in such a way that will make some men want to step their game up in the bedroom. Mixtapes..street wise, one.. got another one on the way.How do you plan to give back to your communities and supporters? First off, I wanna put together an AIDS Awareness summit in every hood. Free testing twice a year. There's an epidemic amongst us african american's and its time EVERYONE starts taking it serious. Second, I wanna put together a NEIGHBOR HOOD READ-A-THON every month for the kids simply because there are too many young black kids that can't read but know every damn song that plays on the radio. It's alot of things I wanna do. Can't name them all. I'd rather go broke trying to help those in need than to go broke spending money on material shit.What music are they currently bumping too???
