In high school, they and six other friends all had dreams of being in the music industry, so they formed a rap group by the name of Frontline. They performed at a few high school talent shows together and wrote a few songs, but the group shortly broke-up.However Pierre and Tigra kept working together, their two considerabley different backgrounds merged together by making songs in Pierre's basement every weekend just for fun. They freestyled and battled at clubs and events and made a name for themselves. In 2000, Pierre and Tigra decided they were ready to really get serious about their music. They formed the rap group "Five One" , and started working long hours writing, producing and recording. The group recorded an official mixtape album in 2002 and performed at shows and distributed albums, selling a few hundred copies in the Northern Virginia area. Not having money for studio time , lost friendships, broken relastipships, mitigating life circumstances, and death invaded the duos personalife but their musical endeavors only grew stronger. Whenever they were together creating music life issues did not matter everything was laughable and could brushed off as if it were nothing but a bad dream. By 2004 the group began experimenting with expanding their sound. They started layering their music more, singing, writing about more topical and conceptual ideas, and being influenced by genres of music outside hip-hop. A high school friend and neighbor, Marcus Parham, who played the guitar began collaborating with Pierre and Tigra, and brought a live instrumentation to the music. In 2005, the three were introduced to Andrei Bucharest, who had sung vocals and played guitar in local band "Common Effect" from 2001 through 2004.Andrei produced hip hop music on his spare time and his use of pads and intricate melodis caught the trios attention. Andrei brought a rock influence, new production and lyrics to the collaboration. Shortly afte their first album the group could not accomplish the neccessary needs of a fully ochestrated live show, although the group gained fans and attetion from management and labels the group decided to revamp their style and positons, which would become the current incarnation of the hip hop trio with the altered name: FIVE ONE
