Half italian, half austrian, here's how my musical life has developed till I faced here, on myspace:
Music and sounds have always guided my life since early days but I only got serious into them when I was 8, studying keyboards and musical theory basics for a few years. At 13 I started afternoon disco clubbing, at 15 I begun playing in punk, ska, reggae, new wave, early electro bands and promoted myself as dj + P.A.&Lights for private parties.
From 1989, since early italian house/techno days, I've being regularly djing in underground clubs for top "one-nights" (Dream, Blue zone, Palladium, Doing!), and for big events alongside with international guest stars like Frankie Bones, Robert Owens, Kim Mazelle, Bobby Konders, Paul Oakenfold, Adamsky, Soul 2 Soul SS, and others. and well established nowadays italian top DJs like C.Coccoluto, Giancarlino, Ralf, Cirillo, Luca de Gennaro and others with agencies like "The Future" and "World Beat" which organized the very first italian Rave Parties. I co-conducted a few Radio Shows during the same period too. I've been italian rave DJ rep with A. Prezioso and Lory D. at the N.M. Seminar when it was held in NY (back in 1991).
Raped by studio work and fed up with the local scene, I ended djing in 1995 after 3 years as "Muccassassina" permanent "guest" D.J (top Rome Gay event since ages). Since 1991 I worked in various Rome recording and mixing studios (Gimmik, AXAX, BBDR, Studio 9, DNF, HinHi) crossing all boundaries of dance, underground, and pop music. My bands have been: "The FUN","The Mobsters", "JoyDrome", "The Miners", "Phosphorus", "DJ Sossa". I partecipated to records produced for national and international labels like Flying, Vibraphone, UMM, IRMA, AWS, RaiTRADE, BMG, Language, SSR, WOT 4, PoliGRAM, Ninjatune, VinylClub Recs, LATERRA, MiniSketch and others. I'll spare you the list of artists I've worked for/with.
During the past 9 years I regularly produced radio library music for RAITRADE, our national broadcast public company publisher, which is distributed trough the EBU circuit. I also worked for a while as product specialist in a big Pro-Audio and Music gear shop: Cherubini, in Rome, and for an Applestore as a multimedia consultant. I'm still a lazy Apple and Redmatica music software alfa/betatester coming from Emagic and Prosoniq betateam.
After some proper training, since 1997 I work also as pre-mastering engineer, for part of the labels above and private artists or producers, in my personal studio, which spots an high resolution playback and DSP setup dedicated to Pre-Mastering. I handle also some pre- or post-productions (DJ Sossa, Adictosound, DJ Embarassed) here at Studio 9 c/o Sound Trax. I've got a pic here:
For live instruments and vocal recordings, I'm in partnership with HinHi, one of the best recording studio in Rome, which produces italian top Artists, in an underground/international flavored style and environment, with top gear, but in a really sunny post-industrial loft. Here's a 360° picture:
I've helped Sossa, together with Antonio-DC10, to setup a pre-production native workstation within DNF Booking Agency/Circoloco (and there's where most of DJ Sossa productions start).
