THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC

The Peoples Republic is an xxxxx initiative established by the federal government in early 2006. This acclaimed project was spawned with the intent to encourage kids to pull down their pants, drink to get drunk, get crunk and generally partake in slapdash acts of pandemonium without a clue as to why they are doing them… and all this whilst dancing.The luminaries behind this meekly applauded initiative are Nick Adams (aka Rick jagger) and Sam Cooper (aka Sam I Am).Nick was a faux high school hero turned pin-me-up ‘pin-me-down’ kidult-model. Unfortunately he was completely average at all catwalk and Kmart catalogue endeavors and was forced by relentless hunger and impoverished surrounds to become a DJ. DJing progressed as his natural obsession (second eating ice cream and long, romantic walks on the beach). An un-named major record label occupies Nick’s days and ensures his elusiveness as he gallivants between gigs and your mate’s girlfriend.Similarly Sam thought he was the “big guy on Campus”, but he got sick of fighting blokes, so he decided to get all arty farty and try to juggle beats instead. The “the loose guy at the party” as he is known, divides his time between graphic design, riding ponies and his musical endeavors. He is often heard stating “it’s all about the remix man…all about the remix”.Electric-bop-rock became the boy’s forte behind the ones and twos and they relished in this talent at famed clubs and cheap Greek wedding’s around Sydney. You may also recall Sam’s feat while DJing at your little sis’s 18th b-day. At least now you know where she was for that hour during the speeches and sponge cake.The members of the Peoples Republic simply don’t take themselves too seriously. And there unique blend of French electronic, “hip-rock-pop-hop” can create a hysteria on the dance floor not seen since the line dancing craze of the mid 90’s.And for the profound conclusion to all you have read above – yes, it’s true that actions speak louder than words. Thankfully the music of the People’s Republic is louder and mucho grandiose than any of their too-often-ashamed actions.
