I'm tired of the long bio.
I was born in Passaic, New Jersey; the same town as Donald Fagen. I guess I think that makes me eligible to be a musician of some sort.
I play piano / guitar / vox / accordion and I write music that Billy Joel would have liked when he was my age. Now, he'd probably think that I'm ripping him off. That would really break my heart, because I'd love to drink a few bottles of wine with him and talk about food and stuff sometime.
No, I really would.
Anyway, I perform solo and with my faithful band The Excuses. I rock out on piano, guitar and accordion (yes, accordion). As of this year, I have been getting on and off stage for 20 years (I won a lip-synch contest in 1987). However, I have chosen to try to suceed in one of the most impossible things in the world, and it's hard. But, enough woe. In the meantime, I teach English and Literature in a great school in NJ! What a great day-job!
If any of my kids are reading this: GET OFF OF MYSPACE AND DO SOME HOMEWORK!!! ;)
I was in Tony n' Tina's Wedding for a long time, and it was a good experience. I was the sleazy wedding-band singer: Donny Dulce. It will be fun to see who they pick to play him on film.
I have not had a cigarette in over 2 years, and I'm very proud of that because I don't want to die right away.
When I'm not performing, writing, teaching or whatever, I'm enjoying my current radio show on WFDU 89.1FM where I host - bi-weekly - "Crash on the Levee" which is a show that's focus is on the singer-songwriter, the well-written tune, and American music. Please tune in on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 12:00pm. If you're not in the listening area, you can stream from anywhere at www.wfdu.fm.
OK, I hope you like the tunes that are posted here. You have a rare glimpse into my current sketchpad, and a version of 'Life of Leisure' not available anywhere else!
BUY "WELCOME BACK TO HELL" PLEASE! What's that? You've got Mp3's of the record, or you downloaded it from iTunes. Well, look, digital music is wonderful, but the sound quality ain't where it needs to be...yet. So, you can only enjoy "Welcome Back to Hell" to its fullest potential on CD. Hook it up! 10.99 = CHEAP!
While We're At It, Please Have A Listen To My Podcast. It Features My Music, The Music of My Friends, and Some Funny Conversation With My Good Friend, and Co-Host, Shaun McGann.
