Emilio Martins initiated his musical career when was 8 years old. He started playing drums, having the first slight knowledge of the instrument with the musician Sergio Saia (Dick Farney drummer), and when was 15 years old, became a professional musician.
He studied in “Conservatório Carlos Camposâ€, in the city of TatuÃ, where later he worked as professor.
Emilio Martins worked with various artists as: Daúde, Vange Milliet, Cláudio Nucci ,Lui Coimbra,Tinoco, Mafalada Minozzi, Pery Ribeiro Chico Cesar, Roberta Miranda, Xavier Naidoo, Cambada Mineira, Tião Carvalho, Orquestra Sinfônica Jazz, Jorge Mautner, Crystian and Ralf ,Daniel,Altemar Dutra jr,among others.
He played in company of respected instrument players for example: Bocato (trombone), Pablo Lepetit, Jorge Oscar, Mario Manga, Fernando Correa, VinÃcius Dorin, Thiago do EspÃrito Santo, among others.
He also played with famous Brazilian artists as Ana Carolina, Milton Nascimento, Euder Costa (Mistura Fina – Rio de Janeiro), Leila Pinheiro, Wolf Borges Pampulha Museum – Belo Horizonte, Zizi Possi, Lui Coimbra (Rio Sul – Rio de Janeiro), “II Festival de Choro de São Carlosâ€, Pepeu Gomes, Baby Consuelo and Armandinho, among others.
In 1997, Emilio Martins was invited to follow Michelle Dress, English drummer who touched with George Michael.
Mandinga: Emilio Martins was one of the founders of the band together with Andre de Souza, Ricardo Finazzi and Cesar Botinha. With two Compact Discs recorded, Terra Nativa (Native Land) and Mostra Geral (General Sample), being also co-producer of the last one, whose had the participation of others musicians as Marcos Suzano, Toninho Ferragutti, Funk Como Le Gusta Horns.
Emilio Martins carried through some tours in Europe, in great festivals and nightclubs, among them: Roskield Festival (Denmark), Verdem I Nerden (Norway), Quasimodo (Berlin), American Latin Festival (Italy), La Mar de Musicas (Cartagena), Fujifilm World Music Days (Stambul)…
In the last five years, Emilio Martins has developing a work with tamboritau,dream lab trio, and his first album solo called Aero Seven.
