About Me

Likes: Reading,writing, Shooting the breeze with Ruth about art, independent films, going to central park and people-watching, writing some more in hopes I might make a rejection-slip paper mache masterpiece, Jazz , metal, some hip hop,things that are somewhat coherent and have something resembling rhythm and harmony (Pretty broad, I know). I like going to diners and ordering the same thing every time: A swiss cheese omelette, homefries, toast, and orange juice. I like chai lattes, but 50 % of New Yorkers do.

Great Quote:just before you looked at me, my life was non existant, now don't take your gaze away returning me to nothing--Love the Litter Box (Dylan)

Shakespeare's Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring barque,
Whose worth's unknown although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Shakespeare's Sonnet 130

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in human and angelic tongues 2 but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
2 And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 3 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5 it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
6 it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 4 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
9 For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
11 When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
12 At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
13 5 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Goodbye Emo

To die gracefully, a hard task, but let's attempt it as we sink into faces in the crowd. We wave goodbye to our most loved and attempt, once again, to become unknown for a short while, until a go...

Perceptions - Reality

This poem is about a girl-- a girl I gave a thumbs-up to every morning, with a smile, thinking she'd appreciate the constancy of my friendliness. Not so bad a gesture, a thumbs-up in America. One...
