Note: This is NOT the actual Dennis Dunaway, this is just a fan page.
Dennis was born on December 9th, 1946, in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He was the oldest of four and moved at a young age to Phoenix, Arizona.
In high school, Dennis became friends with his cross country team mate, Vincent Furnier (BKA Alice Cooper), with Dennis on bass and Alice on vocals, they started several bands including The Earwigs, The Spiders and The Nazz. Dennis attended art college for a year before dropping out to pursue music full-time.
In 1967, after gaining popularity in Phoenix, the band (Neal Smith - Drums, Michael Bruce - Guitar, Glen Buxton - Guitar, Alice Cooper - Vocals, Dennis Dunaway - Bass) moved to Hollywood and changed their name to Alice Cooper. They shifted focus to accompanying original music with avant-garde theatrics, which caught the attention of Frank Zappa, who soon signed them to his bizarre label. They released albums Pretties For You and Easy Action.
A concentration of bookings in the Midwest necessitated relocation to a farm near Detroit, where the high energy rock scene inspired the band to nurture a more sinister style, including tossing chickens into the crowd at a pop festival. A young Canadian producer took note of the band and helped them land a deal with Warner Bros.
