Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. - Dr. Martin Luther King,

About Me

VIVA SICILY!
Hmmmm, what can I say? I'm a 46 year old (yikes) Sicilian-American. Born in San Diego and lived there until a couple years ago. Moved to Pasadena for a career change after 27 years with my first employer. Cat lover, collector of antiques, cook (good, some say), reader (science fiction mostly), romantic, collector of rocks and other things of nature's beauty. Would like to call myself spiritual and in touch with the beauty of our planet. I admire and collect the art of J.C. Leyendecker. Love to travel (when I get a chance; to the Northwest...Portland being my favorite place on the planet!). Worked since age 17 in the San Diego Unified School District...a frustrated history teacher that realized he had no patience with the kids! Went into clerical, secretarial and finally administrative work. Got hired by my union after being a volunteer activist. Now I am a Labor Relations Representative representing 2,000 classified school professionals in four schools districts and one community college in Southern California. Trying to find some new friends and interests after my partner of 5 years decided he wanted to be on his own. Unfortunately, being alone doesn't seem to cut it for me!
Love to laugh, go to movies, stay at home and cuddle. Liberal, and proud of it. My love of nature and spirit have brought me to an end of a life-long search for a belief system that is closest to what I believe. Patritotic American who feels that our civil rights have been kidnapped by a wannabe dictator. Supports our troops, and want to keep them safe from insane leadership in government. What more can I say? It's difficult summing your life and existence up! Besides, who I was, is different from who I am, or who I will become in the future. It's the journey that counts!

Dear Mr. President

My Interests

Travel to Oregon, Washington, or even further north. Love the rain, green, and stormy weather! Gardening, cooking, science fiction (Firefly, Star Trek and the new Battlestar Galactica!), traveling, baseball, bowling, and reading. Quiet times, fun times, companionship with romantic, loving people! The amazing and unexplained mysteries of life and nature.
I am an avid collector of too many things: Art of JC Leyendecker, Stamps, Coins, Nippon porcelain, Oaxacan wood art (alebrijes), antique books/magazines/
newspapers/documents, Native American pottery (Acoma is my favorite). Pretty typical of someone who would never admit to having a Type-A personality with possible OCD!

A candle for peace!

World, things will get better after Bush goes back to being his village's idiot...Promise!

I'd like to meet:

A fun, friendly guy for friendship, companionship, or more! Someone who has a good personality and sense of humor. Looking for someone who is comfortable with himself and who wants to journey the path of life with a fellow traveler. Someone who likes to laugh, and enjoys the company of others. Someone who loves animals, loves life, loves the passion of good food, loves to travel (or at least wants to). A romantic, who would be equally at peace with a bottle of wine on a cliff overlooking a sunset, enjoying a baseball game, sharing a beer while bowling, cuddling in front of a good movie at home with some popcorn, or wrapped in a blanket to keep warm in front of a campfire in the woods somewhere. Gosh, are my sights set too high? I hope not! Even if this isn't quite you, give me a holla!
Joseph Fiennes would do!

So would Ryan Reynolds! Hot, funny...alas, Alanis beat me to him!

Sorry, just one more?

Music:

Truly all, except rap and hip hop. Depends on the mood. Love stuff from the sixties to a lot of the new groups (The Fray, Nickelback, Coldplay, Pink, Keane, Five for Fighting, Dakota Moon, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Tonic, Scissor Sisters, Spoon). Acoustic Alchemy makes great music! Old school: ABBA, Styx, Boston, Blondie, Billy Joel. Did I mention Cher, the ultimate diva! Will Young, the hot and talented English pop star. Goldfrapp for some neat alternative music...also from England. On the country side: Brad Paisly, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, and the man himself...Kenny Chesney! Then, there's Tina Turner, of course...and Enya! Ireland has the amazing Ronan Keating...and for something gorgeous and Italian...Eros Ramazzotti! Ciao bello!

All that...and he can sing too! Hot!
