I recently made an appearance on LOCAL COMEDY REVIEW with Sam Soofi. He did a great job of editing out all the times I broke down in tears due to his high pressure interviewing techniques.

Sure, he looks nice, but he has a habit of making children cry. Mike Hammari is completely inoffensive yet unexplicably scary to small children. His conservative demeanor is quickly contrasted with wild-eyed characters that, in retrospect, shouldn't be presented to some audiences.
At the begining of the year 2000 Mike joined the cast of the long-running Garren's Comedy Troupe. Three months later they went out of business. So Mike started up his own group and began producing his own brand of comedy variety shows.
Mixing in theatrical and multimedia elements, The Mike Hammari Show brings absurd ideas into a realistic setting. Along with sketch and improv comedy, shows are created from a spattering of audience participation, stand up, video, live music and sometimes puppets to create the right effect for the audience; However, strip all the extras away and you'd find that the foundation of Mike's material consists of his well-crafted lyrics and ability to tell a story.
Aside from comedy, Mike has proven to be a consistently impressive songwriter. He picked up a guitar in a pawn shop in South America and has been playing the instrument ever since. Mike avoids the abstract, and frequently writes from the perspective of a character in the song. As a result, his music is very accessible upon its first hearing.
