About Me

Please note that I am a transvestite. MySpace has not given us the option of choosing "transgender" or "other" as a gender so I choose "female" since that is how I prefer to identify. I do not live full-time as a female for practical reasons. If you're unclear about what a transvestite or transgender is, you can read my blog for my opinions about the subject.I have a profile here so that I can maintain contact with friends and possibly make new ones. This is not a personals ad. If you are interested in dating me, then you should read my blog about meeting and the section below about who I'd like to meet. And on the lighter side:

My Interests

Almost everything interests me. Right now I am focusing on finding my way back in music again. Tend to be interested in religion, philosophy, self-awareness and improvement, music, dancing, theater. I want to get out more to cool stuff, to new movies and art galleries, performances of anything new, unusual and different.

I'd like to meet:

I like all kinds of people for friends and conversation. But for dating, I'm only interested in kind, interesting and unattached men. I am not interested in "hookin' up", one-nighters and sex-only relationships. I enjoy dating and being single, but eventually I hope to marry a special guy someday - legal or not!

Music:

Like most kinds of music from ancient to modern. Faves in reverse chrono order: Powder (see www.powdermusic.com), a myriad of Electronica/House/Trance artists, Garbage, Lemon Jelly, Green Day, They Might Be Giants, The Illustrious Theatre Orchestra (see www.theito.org), Enya, Madonna, Sting/Police, Michael Nyman, Depeche Mode, Danny Elfman/Oingo Boingo, B-52s, Queen, Philip Glass, Beatles, Swing era (Miller, Dorsey, et al) Kurt Weill, Prokofiev, Joplin, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, CPE Bach, JS Bach, (most Baroque music gets me going), Monteverdi, Palestrina...to name a few. Love listening to other cultures/world musics whenever I get the chance.

Movies:

Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Casablanca, Annie Hall, Blues Brothers, Sound of Music, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Bowling for Columbine, Star Wars, Wizard of Oz, Brazil, Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Excalibur, Princess Bride, Indiana Jones, Fantasia, A Night at the Opera, What's Up Doc? LotR movies are great cinematically, but don't do the story its justice.

Television:

Haven't watched much television since 2001. Used to watch Comedy Central and Cartoon Network way too much. Stuff I have liked: I Love Lucy, Seinfeld, The Daliy Show, Dave Atell's Insomniac, Law & Order, Mary Tyler Moore, Dexter's Laboratory, Bugs Bunny and all old WB cartoons, Pinky & The Brain, Just Shoot Me, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Kids in the Hall (British & Canadian cross-dressing humor on my fave list? what a surprise!)

Books:

Lord of the Rings, The Bible, The Great Gatsby, Woody Allen's shorts. Read a few other great books along the way, hope to read some more.

Heroes:

All those who lived and died (and still do) to tell the truth and spread love in the world. All my gurlfriends who are outing themselves and/or transitioning, constantly battling their fears and the prejudice of others to simply be themselves. And my father, who when I asked why he was a mechanic all his life said, "because I love doing it."..
