My interests are very diverse. As far as activities, I like to ski in the winter and go into the back-country during the summer. Martial arts has been an large part of my life for many years and though I am not formally affiliated with any school, I practice a martial form of Tai Chi regularly. I also like dining out and nightlife. I like to play and work with computers, but not to the extent that I am glued to it. I enjoy reading and writing. Finally, I have a particular interest in culture. I find other cultures fascinating and enjoy my own, too. That is, I want to go out and experience other peoples, lands, and societies but also enjoy the traditional arts of western culture.
I would like to meet people, pretty much anyone, who have similar interests to my own. Other than that, I like interesting people with good direction. What I mean by this is that I like people who have direction in their lives and whose direction is good.
I listen to most kinds of music under various appropriate circumstances. I like industrial to soft rock as first choice for listening. In the club I don't mind the pop and dance stuff.
My favorite movies are "Ghost in the Shell" and "Apacolypse Now." Of course, other favorites include the Star Wars movies and Indiana Jones, "Pulp Fiction" (though I did not like the look of Kill Bill and never saw it) and "Aliens."
I don't watch a lot of TV, but I tend to watch mostly documentaries, science fiction, and cartoons
My favorite books are the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. His books, "the Hobbit," "the Lord of the Rings" and his master work "the Silmarillion," are the greatest works of fantasy ever to have been made. My favorite works of philosophy are the Taoist Classics, beginning with the Tao Te Ching. The books "Farenheit 451," by Ray Bradbury, and "Brave New World," by Aldous Huxley are also some of my favorite dystopic stories. I also enjoyed "Crime and Punishment," by Dostoevsky.
I really don't have any heroes. I suppose my father and mother, who have made my life what it is, are my heroes. They are the ones who have worked hard all their lives that I might have the opportunity for a great life. Moreover, they continue to help me by providing me with guidance and support.
