My great dane "Yampa", yoga, writing, reading/literature, good wine, great food, doing "active" activities, nature, the beach, traveling to anywhere, any type of art...I sound so serious! Really I just wish I were on a snowboarding trip! And ok...I constantly have to fight my shopping addiction...I like to justify it as my "creativity" coming out. My God is a God who wants me to have killer clothes.
Anyone else who would like a hand in raising the collective consciousness. Creative types who aren't too freaky to participate in society. Nature lovers. Animal lovers. People with depth. Anyone who can teach me something new. Guys who don't spend all their free time just trying to get laid. Anyone who can enjoy the good life and still be a good person. People who are strong enough to be honest(because it sucks sometimes). Those who are articulate and well written.Other LA girls who can't fit their dog in their purse...
Music is transportation to another world, a different state of mind...without the hangover! Everyone has had a song take them away to another time and place, cheer them up (or make them want to jump), right? It's why you use your ipod, to escape from your current mundane surroundings. But I think live music has to be the best.
Violence in movies literally makes me sick to my stomach. I seriously get disturbed watching people hurt and kill other people, even the bad guys. It hurts me to see, and I just can't figure out why I am the only one. What an awful thing for everyone to be so desensitized to the value of life, and where will that leave us as a society? It scares me. I'd like to change it.
So I have a crazy utopian idea that this most powerful medium could be used to change the thinking and perceptions of the masses FOR THE BETTER! Help wake everyone up from their sleepwalking and ultimately reduce the suffering. Most people just haven't had anyone expose them to a better alternative than the daily mind grind. Anyone with me...?
Ellen Burstyn's Lessons on Becoming Myself, Dark Side of the Light Chasers, Autobiography of a Yogi, The Alchemist, Discover Your Destiny With the Monk who Sold his Ferrari...the list goes on and on! I am hooked on self help books...they really can be life changing! Oh...and I'm convinced I will someday write my own book.
Oprah and Gandhi. They would have been formidable business partners...the perfect combo of spirituality and enterprise.
