Heavy Birds

New music in September, fo' real

About Me

We trust it was circa 67', but management often lies. We suspect it was closer to the time of Adam & Eve, but far from the apple. Bartok was a man (we assume) and so was Rimbaud, and they were captives of this world, or the world to them? and so are we. We met, fell in love, and decided to play music - together, asking: "How does one hear?" You might remember in a dream or in a political document found in a desk drawer. You might have imagined another, and together have found that the world looks the same through 28.5% of the people's eyes, like a painting of McGovern. Dylan, Ginsberg, they were words, but it's all the same...blues, jazz, rock, tribal, classical, folk, sounds of the underground. We are cherubs, carriers of words and sounds. Innocence is pure emotion, while knowledge may be evil. So, why the earth, religion, science, class, figure-heads? We need them? Like a whole in our heads! We'll live, then the music may run dry from our fingers (or not), but it will most likely carry on in others, through gaps between the spaces between in-between the gaps, 'cause the cycle always begins again. In fact we believe it has...enjoy the sounds.

Info: The Heavy Birds started in Boston, Ma. when Lia Mooney and Ryan Bourque met at a music club in Cambridge. After abandoning all prior commitments, the two began playing & composing music together. The two soon found themselves wondering around the East Coast playing in small clubs until landing a few shows in Europe. The Heavy Birds played mainly in Paris to great responses, and returned to the States to finish their first full length album, to be released in 2008.
