Ladies 1st is an organization designed for females by females. It was created to unify talented women, (emcees, singer/songwriters, DJs, promoters, dancers,) and others interested. Ladies 1st is not a record label, it is a support group. The industry is male dominated and it is known to be difficult for women to display their talent and be taken serious. Everyone is stuck on the “sex sells” theory and the “ it’s hard for a female to break in the industry”. I feel it’s only hard because of the high image standards that are set for the women. There are many gifted, talented, women of all genres, shapes, sizes, and color. Now is the time to come together and show the world that we can overcome all obstacles that are put in front of us. Cut out all of the negative thoughts and theories of those who don’t think it could be done. So, whether you are just a fan of the hip-hop community, or an actual member, there is nothing wrong with supporting each other. Ladies 1st is ready to display the meaning of female unity.Becoming a member?First and most important, you have to be a female. Secondly, you have to be serious about becoming a member. There will be a Ladies 1st website designed so members can display a short bio and or description of their talent and picture. As the organization grows, there will be events planned and so forth. The first official line of business is the Ladies 1st Mixtape Vol. 1. There will be a Vol. 2, 3,4, and so on. All entertainers will be asked to submit songs, freestyles, and drops. There will be studio sessions set up for those who don’t have means of recording. I only ask that all artist perfect there craft and be ready to record when they get there. Each member should reframe from negative comments about other members and keep what they don’t want the world to know to themselves. This is a mess free organization. If anyone has a problem, they need to discuss it in a reasonable manner. If you don’t have myspace account, you need to set one up. It is a good way to communicate with other members and network with the world.
