Established Singer/Songwriter Tami LaTrell was born and raised in Houston, TX. She has been professionally writing and singing since she was 15. After graduating high school with a 4.1 gpa, she attended college at Texas Southern University receiving a Bachelors degree in Journalism with a PR specialty and a minor in Business.
While a freshman in college, Tami steadily worked in studios around Houston, establishing relationships and building a name for herself. With the help of Grammy award-winning producer, Errol McCalla, Tami inked her first publishing deal EMI Music Publishing under Shaun "Tubby" Holiday and now President of West Coast Creative, Big Jon Platt.
Her writing credits include artists such as Grammy-award winning, Whitney Houston (Just Whitney), Grammy nominated artist Keyshia Cole (Just Like You), Hair Show the Movie soundtrack, International mega-hip hop rapper, JXavier, as well as Devin the Dude (Waitin' to Inhale), R&B/Pop sensations Lady Lux and a roster of independent artists, too many to name!Her accomplishments all stream from her desire to be the best and the passion she has for making words come to life through music.
Now having 3 platinum albums under her belt, Tami LaTrell's has a greater desire and mission is to empower other songwriters, producers and artists through public speaking and consulting about creating your own brand, taking care of your publishing and music business 101 as an indie. With help from other colleagues, Tami also speaks about using practical skills to market yourself and establish footwork before you even get to the major labels.
With a new direction, new sound and a new purpose, Tami definitely is the definition of Inspiration!
