Previously she served as a co-host of HOTWYRED, the network's interactive gaming series. Alesha Reneé was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana – but the self-proclaimed military brat will tell you that she was "raised everywhere." She is no stranger to hard work. Prior to BET, she attended the University of Houston, with a major in Entertainment Law Studies. She brings a unique combination of brains, beauty and genuine southern spirit to the network.Alesha Reneé was discovered at the BET "New Faces" talent search in her current home of Houston, Texas. Based on the encouragement from her family she decided to give the BET talent search a try. Alesha Reneé became one of five "New Faces" and when she called to tell her dad the good news, he cried.In addition to hosting the 5ive, Alesha Reneé is actively involved in the community through her efforts with “Take Our Daughter and Sons To Work Day†and other national and local charities. Alesha Reneé has a bright and meaningful future in the entertainment industry her goal is to make an impact on the world. “I really want to be in a place where I can make a difference, It’s important to me that young women have a voice and I am willing to use my voice to speak-up for those who are not heardâ€, said Alesha Reneé
