The greatest asset any performer can possess is versatility, the ability to turn with ease, from one thing to another, adapting a variety of skills, and using them with equal dexterity to create a picture that is whole and unique.
"CUE" is a performer of this caliber. In his 21 years of performing, (as a
musician first, and then as a Dj/Producer) he has mastered a number of art
forms that, today he utilizes to create a sound and style that is uniquely
his own. Fernando Fuentes AKA CUE discovered his love for music at an
early age. As the son of an artist, his first instrument was a drum set at
the age of 14. Handcrafted by him and his father the drums gave Fernando
not only the basic tool for playing music but also the knowledge that came
in understanding where the roots of sound come from. This was the
beginning of his musical evolution. With great determination and inspiration Fernando honed his skills at the drums and by the age of twenty became one of the most solicited drummers in the music scene in his native Santiago, Chile. His first gigs covered all styles of music. Performing with different bands, Fernando had the chance to work with a wide variety of genres and styles ranging from jazz, funk, rock, pop and techno pop during the early nineties. Little did Fernando know how much this versatility would come into play very soon. By 1995, Fernando had moved to South Beach looking to enhance his frontiers. The city offered him a mixture of languages, flavors and grooves. Miami was a city whose night was starting to explode during the nineties and Fernando sought his piece of the action. Being in the club capital of the United States, it was not long until Fernando, now deemed CUE by the locals, traded his drums for turntables and became a DJ on the Miami scene. Soon CUE started rotations in Miami's premier clubs. Most notable, his seven year residency @ BLUE, Miami's hot spot for house. Soon he was also spinning at well known locales such as Nikki Beach, Nerve and the legendary Groove Jet. With his DJ career taking off, CUE now returned to his roots in music and began creating and producing his own material. With releases on Stickman Records, Aurei, the legendary Deep Vision Records, The Dutchie and Nervous Records NY, CUE's driving beats, deep bass lines and dynamic programming created a unique brand of Electronica with strong House roots. After years of hosting the WMC delegates, guest and djs, CUE formed an alliance with some of dance musics top talent. Sandy Rivera was one of the first to realize CUEs talent as a producer and quickly snatched up some of his first singles for his label Deep Vision (Kings of Tomorrow). This led to a deal with Buzzn Fly for his single 'Dreaming Of You' which is featured on Ben Watts (Everything But the Girl) Buzzn Fly Compilation. In the winter of 2003 the spotlight of Miami beamed on CUE. With new residencies @ Super Clubs SPACE, CROBAR and TWILO CUE stepped up and pushed the play button on what would be the start of a musical revolution in Miami. Living in the city that cant sleep, CUE's following was supported heavily by the after-hours community. Very attentive crowds began to follow CUEs every move on the dance floor and from venue to venue, to hear his truly artistic take on Electronic Dance Music. CUE came together with DJ Stephan Luke in 2003 to start what become one of the highest points of the Miami Underground scene, from places like the groundbreaking Sundays at Nerve followed up by the successful Sundance Sundays at Amika, where they were proud to be nominated as 2006 Best Resident Dj's at the Club World Awards by Club System Magazine. With his undeniable talent across the entire musical spectrum, over the past six years, Cue has been leaving his unmistakable mark on the music industry, not only as a DJ and Producer but also as a continuous innovator and sound pioneer on the electronic scene. Cue's upcoming releases include the long awaited hit single "Dancin", promising to be an underground smash in 2008. Already remixed by renowned DJ’s like Oscar G, Behrouz, Nic Fanciulli and George Morel "Dancin" is scheduled to be released by Nervous Records NYC, one of the longest standing record labels in the industry. Nervous has been home, since 1991, of a long list of House Music legends and top producers. With continuous appearances at the finest and most crowded dance floors from Ibiza to Latin America and all places in between, be prepared to be seduced by the beats, rich sounds and the fury that are synonymous with his performances.
