D FREEK is an artist ,songwriter,producer , vocal arranger, and very big man! Hailing from the old-school era of "real music", influences are truly eclectic, spanning funk to rock, from hip hop to accapella, from neo soul to gospel. Along the way there have been truly great moments and great collaborations. HEAVY LOAD - This is a joint production project with Manchester's finest - JON WHITTAKER. This album of full-blown gems & classic soul has received excellent press reviews, including BLUES & SOUL magazine. CONCRETE WIG - This is a studio band comprising TONY BOWERS (SIMPLY RED)and DEMO MORSELLI (Italy's premier trumpeter). As well as lead vocals, writing and production also undertaken. Along the way, there have been world tours with 808 STATE & NEW ORDER. Other activities include teaching vocals and stage performance skills at CULTURAL FUSION accademy, england, album production for KID CREOLE; backing vocals for HAPPY MONDAYS & THE DOVES; producing and singing with MELANIE WILLIAMS(SUB-SUB); working and touring with RACHEAL MCFARLANE(" Take me to the clouds above"); Artist development and song production with Manchester's best-kept secret - JMEZ (Producer @ WHITE CHALK - Rio Ferdinands' label); LEAD AND backing vocals for INCOGNITO.AS A PROUD PARENT OF THREE BEATUFUL CHILDREN I FIND IT EASY TO CREATE SONGS,AND COME UP WITH NEW MATEIRIAL ALL THE TIME , LOVE AND WAR ,JOY AND PAIN ARE MY INSPIRATIONS, DARRIUS HAS NOW LEARNED HOW TO "CHOP A BEAT" AND IS A REAL SOURCE OF PLEASURE( AND PAIN!!!)
