I am here for Friends

About Me

A lucky son of a gun living in Central Massachusetts, with a wonderful wife and family, working in the family businesses, specifically a terrific Thai Restaurant (CHEZ SIAM in Marlborough, MA).

My Interests

Very passionate about all my Boston teams (as you can see from my current wallpaper), with too much love to the Pats, Sox, Celts and B's...and even the Revs. In conjunction with that, I collect pretty much anything with a logo that has come connection with one of those teams. Between going and watching sports (and poker), I like to collect jerseys and monies. Yes, I have spending issues. Plus the 5,000+ songs on my iPod mean music is also a big deal for me. But when the dust settles, the most important thing is the time shared with my family, especially if can be time spent away from the rigors of the daily grind. But even then, any time spent with any member in my family is time well spent!

I'd like to meet:

People with a positive outlook, that can be upbeat under any circumstance....

Music:

As always, music will always be a big part of who am I. So my interests are all over the map depending upon what I'm doing, or what mood I'm in, or what's readily available. While this list won't include all my favorites, it should be a good cross-section of what I'll listen to any chance I get: KISS, U2, ACDC, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Metallica, Manowar, Skid Row, Saigon Kick, Winger, Warrant, Poison, Cold Sweat, Megadeth, Extreme, GNR, Anthrax....and Madonna, Christina, Britney, Destiny's Child...and Dre, Snoop, 50, LL, DMC, Kool Moe Dee, Hammer, BBD, Body Count, Cube..and Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel, Elton John, Boz Scaggs, Joe Jackson, Talking Heads, Simple Minds, Tears For Fears, Cars, Squeeze...and Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Chic, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, The Spinners, Smokey...and The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi, The Beatles.. There's more, but you get the gist!

Movies:

Don't really get a chance to get to the movies these days with Shauna running around the house, so most of my favorites are from days gone by such as: Holy Grail, Coming To America, Groove Tube, Kentucky Fried Movie, Rocky, Jaws, The Exorcist, Shawshank, Office Space, Old School, Saving Private Ryan, Tin Cup, Top Secret, The Negotiator, Spinal Tap and Caddyshack come to mind.

Television:

I have to admit that I get hyp-mo-tized when there's poker on TV. What can I say, I have a problem. No new shows grab me, so I'm on the DVD and Tivo set up with Seinfeld, Raymond, Chappelle Show, Family Guy. Obviously SportsCenter, and all it's affiliated programming as well. Plus the VH-1 specials are pretty good. Fairly boring TV watcher.

Books:

The reading list is comprised of all books having to do with the Boston Red Sox World Championship and the New England Patriots Super Bowls. Wide variety, huh?

Heroes:

Obviously, everything starts and ends with my father. A tremendous man who's shoes I'll never fill, but still appreciate his every quality and trait he showed through every day of his life. I grabbed a couple of his life lessons before his passing, but not enough. He helped make my life the pleasure that it is today. And of course, he was helped out by his wonderful wife, my mother. She showed that you can come to a new country, and make something of yourself, with brains and tenacity. She is someone I can't help but look up to, and still do everyday. The term heroes should also be followed by excellent role models and great human beings, as that truly describes John and Chalat Sperou.
