Hey folks, Bradrock here, welcoming you to the Mr. Boogieman MySpace page!!! For those who don't know, we are a rock/funk/blues band based in Gallipolis, Ohio. Mr. Boogieman was formed in 1998 (I think...), when local rocker Jeremy Russell decided to set aside his drumsticks to form a group playing guitar and singing. Since he was a drummer in the funk/metal band Gait for many years, he had aquired many musical contacts, including me. At the time, I was without a band and getting antsy to play. Then, out of the blue, I get a call from Jeremy saying he was looking for a bass player and wondered if I would like to jam. I had always wanted to jam with Jer, being he was a damn good drummer, so I intantly said yes. Little did I know, the dude can rip on the guitar and sing too!!
We started jamming, and Jeremy began writing songs, which led to playing shows. Then, one night we found out we weren't going to have a drummer for an upcoming show. After all options were exhausted, Jeremy decided to call his cousin, Matt Willis. Matt had a big reputation on the kit and in percussion in general. But, he had decided to dedicate his time to his family, and hadn't played in around ten years. It was a longshot that he would agree to play with us, so when he said yes, it was like a Godsend. We instantly clicked, Matt was like the missing side of the triangle, and now we all love making music more than ever.
I hope you all come back and check our site here, and let us know what you think. I will be checking this site pretty regularly, and will try to update the songs as often as I can.
By the way, we're working on a full blown album right now, with the fine fellows from Mind Ignition, so that should be hittin' ya soon, and we got a full summer of shows, all of which will be posted here so keep an eye out!!!
