Exocell is a four piece metal band from Gallipolis, Ohio with influences ranging from Deftones and Tool to Rage Against the Machine and Korn. When forming the band in 2002, vocalist Josh Gibson and guitarist Drew Watson wanted to create something unique and fun to watch. Helping the two reach that goal are drummer Aaron "Buddha" Moody and bassist Steve Gillispie. The fuel that feeds this fire is life and it’s unexpected twists and turns. Over the years the band has dealt with every thing from lies to betrayal, but nothing worse than the heartbreak of losing original drummer Josh Jones to suicide in 2004. All these events have molded Exocell into the band they are today. The essence of Exocell is thier energetic live show. By emitting more energy than a nuclear power plant, Exocell is sure to get a crowd moving. By giving the concert attendee more than just something to listen to, they are sure to leave an impression on those that witness one of the most evergetic bands in the area. The band had their singles "Guide My Way" and "Lies" on the local rock program "Loud and Local" featured on 106.3 WAMX. They released two demos titled "Pull The Trigger And Make A Wish" and "Mechanical". The band also played several notable venues including the Monkey Bar (now Fluid) in Huntington, WV, Bogarts in Cincinnati, OH, and The Blue Gator in Athens, OH.Up next for the quartet is to hit the Redroom Studio with Chris Grogan (Bobaflex, Energy, Anna’s Arson) to record a six song E.P. titled "Lead By Example". This will be the first time in a real studio for the band and they are hoping to bring that energy with them from their live shows and put it into the music to give you, the listener, a taste of what Exocell really sounds like.
