My musical journey began at age six, when my parents forced me to spend my free time practicing the acoustic guitar. To exact my revenge, I switched to the cello, requiring my parents to buy me another expensive instrument that I eventually sold to pay rent in college. Deviously, I managed to pick up the acoustic and electric bass as well, and the bass eventually became my primary voice. My parents were smart enough to make me buy my own basses.
I attended the University of Texas at Austin, initially as a jazz performance major with a focus on bass. I played actively in the jazz, alternative music, and theater scenes in Austin. Now I live and play in Denver, trying as hard as I can to channel the karma of Mark King, John Patitucci, Gary Willis, Kai Eckhardt, and myself into a product that is offensive to the fewest possible listeners.
