The temperature was hot and so was the action! It was the second D1 Grand Prix exhibition event held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Competition was fierce with alot of sudden death re-runs. In the end Yoichi Imamura defeated Hideo Hiraoka with his ORC/Top Secret Nissan Fairlady Z. “Drift Slide Collide†was the headline of this event and it lived up to its name as many of the competitors pushed themselves to the limit which resulted in contact with barriers and other competitors in a very dramatic fashion.. Daijiro Yoshihara in his Rockstar/Nitto Tires Nissan S15 stayed clean and aggressive and took home the victory and jumped up to the 2nd spot overall in the Castrol SYNTEC Power Cup Standings. Coming in a close second was the Falken Tires Ford Mustang with a newly built Hasselgren motor driven by Vaughn Gittin, Jr. and in third place was the Hankook Tires/JIC Nissan S15 driven by Kenji Yamanaka. The battle for the Castrol SYNTEC Power Cup continues as only a few points separate the leaders from winning the Championship. Click for more
