TSL Rich

Well, I suppose it’s about time I update this thing. My name is Rich Lavigne. I am 28 and I currently reside in Matawan, NJ. I grew up in South Plainfield, NJ, graduated from high school, and went off to college at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. 4 years later and I left there with a paper that guaranteed me the right to conquer the world. I got a job at Maser Consulting, a civil engineering firm, where I could pursue my career in Landscape Architecture. For most people, that'd be enough, they'd find a pretty little woman, button it all up and call it a life. That wasn't enough for me though...I was always the kid that wanted to express myself, whether it be poetry or art in middle school or more aggressive and abstract ways, like skating or hooking up my car when I was in high school and college. I had no idea how much these things would come to shape my life. See while skating and hooking up my car, I found something else that I liked to do...take pictures. I made a whole website dedicated to our skating clique, SUP, Straight up Playas. I know, it sounds corny as hell, but if it weren't for that site, I wouldn't be were I am today. I fell out of the skating scene, call it old age or too many broken bones, whatever the reason, that phase had passed. I was still deep into the car scene, spending hours and dollars on my civic, but just like skating, I got tired. The scene started to get old, or was it me? That's when Anne decided she wanted to pick up a camera.....and consequently, I picked one up too. That was almost 2 years ago now. I am back into the car scene, stronger than ever. I am amazed at the feeling that comes from capturing split seconds of time for permanent record. It’s incredible to see the smiles that it brings to people's faces. I've been working for www.thespeedlounge.com and have had the pleasure of shooting thousands of pics of some of the most beautiful and powerful import and sport compact cars in the world. Sometimes, I'm at telephoto distances, but more often than not, I'm in the action, providing shots from new and unique angles. I'm not sure where I'm going, but at this point, I'm content to just sit back and enjoy the ride. See you at the next stop, Rich
