I began playing piano as a small child, and at age five begged my parents for lessons. For the next twelve years I studied primarily classical music, plus a little bit of jazz, as well as music theory and composition. Of course, I was also surrounded by pop music on the radio. Sometime in high school I started exploring creating my own sounds at the piano, and naturally they turned out to be a blend of these influences.
In the early years, much of my music had a gospel, boogie, or soft rock flavor. When I discovered George Winston in the early '80s I realized that flowing, lyrical music was where my passion really lay, and my composition began to take off.
I first released my music on a cassette album back in 1987, and in 1999 recorded my first solo CD, " Heart of the Rain ". This music is deeply influenced by the beauty of the natural world here in Northwest Washington State, as well as my spiritual longing for truth and beauty.
In addition to recording, I also regularly perform live in many different settings, ranging from weddings to concerts to coffee houses.
I look forward to meeting more friends who share my interests in music, nature, and spirituality, as well as networking with folks who might be interested in selling my CDs, synchronizing my music to video, or hiring me for live performances.
