About Me

.. ..Simply put, Michael Hanna is the George Winston of a new generation.
Although Michael's career as a composer and arranger dates back to late 1992, he is first and foremost a storyteller.
"I have always been captivated by the art of storytelling. It's a gift, really; the ability to reach someone else's soul with the human elements of a great story. But a story doesn't have to be told with words. A timeless tale, told with half notes and rests, can be as powerful and transcendent as any told with nouns and adjectives. In my opinion, the best musicians are the best storytellers."
Michael is truly a musical storyteller, his music filled with nostalgia, passion, sorrow, and joy. Visit the music page [on michaelhannamusic.com] to hear samples; click on song titles to read about the stories behind the music.
In the chords and cadences of Michael's music, you will find the mystery of Tolkien, the eloquence of Hemingway, the doubt of Camus, the struggle of Poe, the poetry of Thomas, and the charm of Fitzgerald. Savor these moving and passionate melodies as words to stories of love and loss.
