About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
UPDATE: Show's over. After a long hard think and many tears shed I decided to end the Uneasy Listening show. Sadly the complete lack of support from the majority of record companies -- both multi-national corporates and the underground labels, finally took its toll. With a weekly one-hour video show you have gotta have the new footage to show the viewers that tune in every week, and sadly Youtube ain't broadcast quality. There were other factors in my difficult decision that I also took into consideration although this is not the place to go into that. I have enjoyed putting together Uneasy Listening for almost two years. HUGE thanks to all the bands and labels that really did try to make it work. I have had the fortune of meeting many of my musical heroes through the show - Anti-Nowhere League, UK Subs, Agnostic Front, The Unseen and so many more, not to mention all the local acts who came on the show.I considered shutting down this page, since the show is no longer around, but I have decided to maintain it. The reason is that the show might be over, but the fire still burns and I still want to do something in some way to be helping bands get their music out there onto the airwaves, and giving people the music that they really want, not what corporate America decides we should be listening to.So, what's next. Hell, I don't know... be it magazine, fanzine, TV or radio I will keep this page so that should I go on to something else I can let you fellas know what's up.Huge love to the Uneasy Listening community, the people that tuned in every week, the people that taped the show for their mates and the people that sent me emails, books, cds, dvds to keep it all going for so long. Without you, the show would not have existed for so long. It was you guys that made it so special and made it all worthwhile. You know who you are, and I missed you sincerely when ALT dropped the UHF.See you again sometime in the future I hope...

My Interests

Music, film, art, philosophy, books, politics, sociology.

I'd like to meet:

Musicians that I can promote on my tele show... (for those of you who can't be bothered reading the big blurb, sorry folks - it's a punk show, so if you don't fit this category on some level, I can't help you) BUT try www.alttv.co.nz anyway and you may have some luck on someone else's show...Oh and people in magazines who can giz a job ;-) I am happy when I am writing. So does anybody out there want to make me happy?!

Music:

Oh this will take me HOURS... I grew up on punk music, so it's always been a part of my life. A selection of bands I love are; A Global Threat, Anti Flag, Black Flag, Bloc Party, The Bronx, The Bones, The Casualties, The Clash, Converge, Dead Kennedys, Dropkick Murphys, The Distillers, Fugazi, Guided by Voices, Iggy and the Stooges, L7, Lower Class Brats, The Messengers, The Scarred, Minor Threat, Nina Hagen, Nirvana, NoMeansNo, Pixies, Ramones, Rancid, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, Sick of it all, The Unseen and many more. I also really enjoy electroclash. Detroit Grand Pubahs was one of the best gigs I have ever been to. Nutcases! I despise classical instrumental music, it makes me feel very angry, I have no idea why (something from a past life?) but I enjoy some opera... I'm going to have to keep adding to this. I love Joy Division, Tool, Peaches, Interpol, Grand National and loads more.

Movies:

The Filth and the Fury, Bad Taste, Natural Born Killers, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Malcolm X, Crash, Old School, Amelie, Wolf Creek, Office Space, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Taxi Driver, Total Recall (open your mind. Open your mind to me...) so many more. Too hard. Why do you care anyway? ha ha

Television:

Kill it, or tune into ALT and let all the other stations rot in their own bullshit. Nasty, nasty media bollox ;-) If I had sky tho, my tv would be tuned to Discovery. I love documentaries, especially crime ones. The FBI Files rules. Oh I sound so serious, don't I, but The Young Ones isn't on anymore!

Books:

Shantaram, Affluenza - When too much isn't enough, A Clockwork Orange, The Invitation, I love cookbooks - I'm no Susie Homemaker, but I LOVE good food. And of course, I love books about music, but not ones where you have to read each line five times with a thesaurus at your side just to understand it. Music is emotion baby not rocket science.
