About Me
Michael will be playing the role of "Matthew" in the Off-Broadway production of ALTAR BOYZ, directed by Stafford Arima and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. He was also seen at St. Louis Rep and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park playing the same part. Michael just finished up a production of EDGES, playing Man 1, written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. This past summer he was in the Lincoln Center Experimental Theatre production of ONLY CHILDREN playing Alastair Richards, and also in the North Shore Music Theatre production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL playing Jack Scott. Michael has been seen in New York City rockin' out at Joe's Pub in THINGS TO RUIN: THE SONGS OF JOE ICONIS and at Lincoln Center for "Bound For Broadway" singing opposite Jerry Dixon (tick..tick..BOOM!, Once on this Island) and Donna Vivino (Fame Becomes Me, Hairspray). This past summer he portrayed the role of Colonel Steele in Goodspeed's production of THE SIXTIES PROJECT directed by Tony Award Winner Richard Maltby, Jr. Now entering his Senior year at New York University, Majoring in Vocal Performance with emphasis in Musical Theatre, he has been in many shows in the city. At NYU Michael most recently played Bobby Strong in URINETOWN, Cinderella's Prince in INTO THE WOODS, Brit Craig in PARADE, Pirate King in PIRATES OF PENZANCE, Al in the production of A CHORUS LINE, Stanford White in RAGTIME, Michael in the New York Premiere of BLOOD AND OTHER HUMOURS, written by Tony-Award winner Rachel Shenkin and this spring he will be seen in "29" a new work, at the Provincetown Playhouse. Other credits include The Inspector in the New York Premiere workshop of CAIRO , Alma in the New York Equity Workshop of MAYA and Nelson in Tisch's Graduate Writing program workshop of the Premiere of NELSON ROCKS. 3 years ago he played the role of Jonathan in the New England Premiere of tick...tick...BOOM! He has recorded with writers affiliated with Jive Records, and Elliot Lawrence (the musical director of the Tony Awards). In the Spring of 2005, he performed solo at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas under the music direction of Greg Jasperse. Michael also worked with Lou Pearlman, Rich Taylor, and Clive Davis. He is heard on the the original demo recording of Maya, and also of THE THEIF (2006) and THE GONDOLIERS (2005), directed by Joseph Church, playing one of the Gondoliers opposite Christian Borle (also on this album were Elena Shaddow, Mary Testa, Gavin Creel, Barrett Foa, and Megan McGinnis). In 2000/2002 Michael performed on the Castle Stage in Walt Disney World, affilated with Showchoir Camps of America. In 2003, Michael appeared in American Idol 2 as a Hollywood Finalist, making his debut on national television for all of the American Idol commercials and the show premiere. Michael is a member of Actors Equity Association.
