Rusty G's Sovrin Chubba - Sound Engineer extrodinaire - we love ya man! Laurie Storey & the team at the WMC Bletchley for the venue, endless support and over half the raffle prizes!! Joel Manan & the team at Marshall Amplification for the excellent backline gear Ultimate Print & Design - for doing our posters & flyers (T.01908 648777) Mac's Music Store - www.macsmusicstore.co.uk for donating raffle prize Kemble Pianos - for raffle prizes Cherry Hudson - for charming the admission fee out of the punters all night while keeping the door running nice and smooth - and tearing up endless raffle tickets! Cal Hudson - for tireless work providing ultra-low key security (not needed once!!) doing the photography, persuading the generous folk coming in to buy raffle tickets, staying charming & STILL managing to get shit-faced before leaving....CLASS! Stu Hudson - for photography and stage securityand most of all to those of who came down, saw, rocked out and gave so generouslyHello people and welcome to our 'space'! Thanks for stopping by and taking a few mins to root about the site.So...who are we then?Alex and the Straglers have been in existence since around the end of 05 and, it has to be said, the current (peculiar..some would say) line-up came about almost accidently.Former 'Nothing Purple' lead singer/ lead guitarist Gemma Hudson had (once again!) found herself lacking in a supply of musicians who matched her tenacity and motivation for getting a band off the ground found an unlikely sonwriting foil in classically trained singer Heather Garner (aka Cartoon Head...C.H. for short) and after several writing sessions found Gem's wee brother Craig tapping away to their tunes on his newly aquired drumkit. As Craig's drumming prowess grew into Moon inspired beat lunacy and so his place in the group became assured.Perhaps the most bizarre addition to the line-up comes in the form of the man the simply call 'Hacker'. Almost twice the age of the next youngest Stragler, Hacker had collaborated with Gemz on the (rapidly becoming legendary) track '7 Days' which remains in the set today and had initially agreed to sit in on early rehearsals while the search for a bass player continued. However a few more songs co-written and his unique take on how a bass riff should go and he too is now a permanent fixture in the band.
