Paul and Al met at Bristols infamous Lakota club in the summer of 1996, They built a studio rigging up an Atari ST, a Sampson mixing desk with an Roland S760, a Zoom 9120 and an HM Heavy Metal pedal and a Pro1 Paul had bought from a geezer in a pub for £95. They called themselves Starecase and produced their first tune (the second ever release on Lakotas label) First Floor Deadlock. It became a classic. Their recording output lurched like a pinball machine, but their friendship with Lakota promoter Leon Alexander and Lakota Press Officer Steve Satterthwaite bought them to the pairs newly founded Hope Recordings label.
Since then the pair have produced lots of quality music and remixes. They also had a full artist album on Hope; Firstfloor. They have just returned to Hope with a storming track 'Vapour Trails', out now!
Hope Recordings are offering new producers out there the chance to remix our recent track 'Vapour Trails'; winner to be picked by us, and released on download. To enter go to Beatport and download the remix parts (for free!).
As a celebration of Hope's 8th birthday we have also mixed a 8 years of Hope retrospective. This includes an exclusive upcoming track from Matt Rowan & Jaytech, plus some rare mixes from the Hope back catalogue. Out now to download from Beatport
