John Karagiannis was born and raised in Thessaloniki. His first touch with music started in a very young age when he begun to play the piano and later on violoncello. Thus, he built up a classical music background. At that time he started listen to the radio a habit that rapidly turned to a passion and led him to ANT1 Radio-one of the most important radio stations in Greece- as a radio producer at the age of fourteen. He soon found about electronic music and he realized that its the music that expressed him mostly. This fact led him to Safari FM a radio station based in Greece that broadcasts dance music. He was working there as radio producer for four years having one of the most successful daily show and playing underground dance music. During his last year at Safari Fm he was producing and organizing a special show called X-Mix broadcasting techno and tech-house music and hosting interviews and exclusive dj sets from artists such as Marco Lenzi, Misstress Barbara, Filterheadz etc On 2004 he decided to make a step further and get involved in the music industry by establishing his first record label called Harmonic Distortion Records and some months later his love and passion for techno music made him found TechHead Recordings-his second label. During all these years TechHead Recordings has released records from very important and well known artists in the techno scene like: Axel Karakasis Marco Lenzi, Eric Sneo, Cave, Olivier Giacomotto, Stephane Signore, Dj Preach, Spiros Kaloumenos, Vic&Budai, Robert Natus, Kobbe etc At the same time he started a co operation with Freeze magazine a music culture and lifestyle magazine in Greece as a techno records reviewer. His dj sets is a mix and match of different techno styles from electro and funky to melodic and groovy but always dancefloor oriented!!! For John each set is like a different story with endless energy and musical variation! He has spread his music vibes in different festivals, gigs, music conferences and radio sets around Europe. On 2005 he made his first steps on discography along with his studio partner PayLipService. Their partnership is a combination of experiences in production and djing and their goal is to creat fresh sounded techno music. They think that techno needs it more than ever before. His debut record was out on TechHead Recordings named Mastering the Hype a various artists EP with Bando from Spain and Ika Sali from Slovakia. and also on release in a French label Kazoo Records in a remix for Whebba. Also a remix for TechHeads new series called TechHead RedMixes along with Robert Natus, Kobbe and Balthatzar&JackRock. Future releases includes labels such as: Omega Audio, Soul Access, Techment, NotoriusNorth, TCP, eighty-eight Records,Keep on Techno and also in his own inprint TechHead More interesting things to follow Future seems to be bright for John!
