Odessa atmosphere of the port city: nightlife, cruise ships, beautiful
people, bright light and dance music brought him up and had left a big
trace in his soul. Announcing himself for the first time in 1998 by
winning the Association DJ Profy first prize, Mays finally decides to
dedicate all his life to music...The first powerful steps - in the end of 90's, in the epoch of
cultural underground, dj Mays organizes with friends a promo group
Alien Djs Promo, which affected the clublife development in Odessa.
The first radio broadcasts were on radio "Feel" in 2000 in the project
Therapy, where he played regularly. Since then his work is inseparable
from radio: Pulse project, and Territory project afterwards made
techno music one of the most popular music styles in Odessa. In 2001
there was an important event in the music work of Ruslan Mays -
performance on the big festival KaZantip (Crimea, Ukraine). He created
a furore on publicity by his work with techno music, which was his
positive distinguish on KaZantip festival...From 2002-03-04 he started to play on tours around Russia, Ukraine,
Poland with sets in the best clubs. He is the resident and participant
of such festivals and events as Kazantip (Euro dancefloor and Main
Stage), I love techno UA, Electro Autumn, Pro techno, Perfect rave. He
collaborated at parties with best DJs and producers from Russia,
Poland, Ukraine, Germany and England...An unexpected prize was from in 2004 was presented by German company
Beck's - Mays was claimed the best DJ of Odessa. According to the
words of one of the producers of Beck's parties, "in live sets of Dj
Mays he exactly knows his aim - drive, euphoria and happiness
transmitting through music which he bears in himself...In the autumn of 2004 the first Cd Mix Do You Like mix-compilation of Dj Mays for year 2004 was released on Ukrainian label
Virus Production. A new two CD release 2005 - Dj Mays Stimulation Of Night (Virus Prod) - sounds rhythmic, melodic and hard, what defines the style of dj Mays...Along with club activity Ruslan is running a radio show The
Real Techno Mix on the net radio station Star FM. This is the only FM
radio station which broadcasts electronic music of techno and electronic
styles...In summer of 2005 dj Mays is claimed the Best Techno DJ of Ukraine by
the version of TopDj (Opium Beach Club, Kiev) for an exclusive
contribution into the development of techno culture.
He is arranging the main techno party on KaZantip'05 "Play techno",
where took part Djs and live teams from Russia, Austria, Ukraine and
England...In the nearest future there are plans in making studio personal
compositions which should occupy a worthy place in techno music...For a long time of professional work the musical style of Mays
absorbed different dance energy of various music directions united by
techno style. For long and persistent contribution into the
development of electronic music he can be called one of the best
