The average hip hop head wouldn't think that the west coast g-funk rhythms of Snoop Dogg's "What's My Name" would reach to the war torn land of Serbia, but it did, and anyone who's been in earshot of this producer's pounding hip hop production is thankful of that.
Serbian born, Toronto native, Chuck Diesel (now 27) cites Dr. Dre's beats and Dire Straits' ripping guitar solo's as his main influences. Polar opposites? Yes, but upon hearing Chuck's beats, the puzzle that is his musical foundation begins to come together. Keyboard beats interspersed with live guitar and other instrumentation; etheral sound effects and pulsing rock-style basslines lead listeners through head nodding fits that can make any neck sore.
"My Dad taught me guitar when i was 10, I've been making beats for Six years, it just seems like a natural extension to be in production because I've always loved hip hop, rock , jazz , blues and many other genres. Producing is an outlet that lets me tap all these influences."
Chuck has been a large part of the Toronto Hip Hop community and runs his own pre-production studio in Toronto, Ontario. He also worked as a part time Assistant Engineer at the legendary Metalworks Studios in Mississauga Ontario learning under such notable engineers as Ian Bodzasi , L Stu Young and Nick Blagona.
