ESKALATION A two-men Drum and Bass formation from the pounding D&B heart of the Netherlands. Eskalation started as most typical DJ-acts do. Mid-nineties both of the Eskalation-members developped an interest for the broken beats.
The first few years were spent attending parties, watching and listening. Although this was quite a fun time for both Taco (Koek) and Merijn (Huiskamp) (thank god this guys teamed up to form Eskalation, so I don't have to type this ridiculous names over and over again), the two men teamed up in the summer of 2001, fed up with being mere audience.
The very first day both men worked together was an instant marathon session, 14 hours straight. This was the dawn of Eskalation and also the first trial-and-error producing-session.
The two rapidly started developping their own mixing skills, on, if I may say so, extremely crude equipment. The inferiority of the equipment wasn't that much of a problem though, in a short while both C and M gained the sought-after skills, or so their close friends and relatives said.
This led to being asked to spin at birthday bashes, smaller parties, and has grown to the current status of spinning at the major events, in the Netherlands and abroad, at the moment you can experience Eskalation yourself since they are now residents at the wicked and massively attended Bi-monthly Drop! parties in Utrecht's ClubPoema ( www.drop-dnb.nl ).
Production-wise the two started working overtime, sometimes on crazy hours, sometimes to end up with nothing but that good ol' satisfying blurry feeling in their heads, always surrounded by beercans and smokes.
The results are known, with released productions in the past (f.i. Galvanize bootleg on LOVE), and there is much more to come in the very near future. For a discography, see below!
