I used MyWackoSpace.com 's amazing MySpace Editor .Born on June 25th 1982, as the first born son of a young Surinamese couple (Surinam South America: his mother part Creool, Javanese and Chinese and father Hindoe) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Yorel Cairo, whose real name is Leroy Magai saw the light. Growing up in a time when Hip Hop was about to go into it’s Golden Age, he was exposed to the Hip hop elements such as dancing and of course the different variety’s of music such as swing beat. Singing became a part of his life while dancing became a part of his body. Yorel is not the only talent in his family, his youngest sister Shanice is a upcoming singer, his oldest brother V-Jay is a talented Dutch MC. His uncle was part of the R&B group called Deanté which had several successes and his cousin Perry Mystique is a talented English rapping MC.While growing up he would sit in front of the television and watch cartoons such as; Transformers and shows like; Miami Vice. Until The Fresh Prince of Bell Air was introduced into his life and sparked his passion for acting. Watching this show every week, Yorel was walking and talking like Will Smith everyday. His interest for acting also showed when he was watching movies and tried to pull faces as the actors did. Playing every possible character he had the possibility to do.At the age of 17, Yorel met the members of the Partysquad. He asked them for their opinion on several stage names, but only to find that none of them really applied, to his unique characteristics. Until he asked DJ Jerry what he thought about Yorel. This is his name but then spelled backwards (Leroy, Yorel). DJ Jerry then replied “it sounds real American and has a nice roll on the tongue”. And because Yorel always wanted to have his mothers last name ( Conchita Cairo ) he decided to give his stage name Yorel a last name. And at that moment Yorel Cairo was born.Always dreaming about writing his own scenario for a movie or TV show, Yorel started Writing a story named; Jay & Mike. But it wasn’t only stories his mind created it was also poetry. He shared his poetry with people in his surroundings. All of them well received by family and friends as well as people he did not know. His creative mind got more and more excited and he started to develop his writing skills in a short period of time by challenging himself to write not only love poetry but also poetry about life it self.When Yorel joined a radio station called “Mosa Radio” in Amsterdam, he became a radio host and dj for 4 years. But once again his passions could not leave him be and he again got the itch to make a career out of acting. He got a role in a kids TV show on the Dutch Television called Blinq. He also co-wrote four sketches for a political program on MTNL with comedian Jeffery Spallburg. After that, Yorel was asked to play in a number of commercials for music channel The Box, which were shot in February 2006. At that same his best friend Rezon “Romello” Pattipeiluhu started his photography career and they combined their strength. Rezon as Yorel’s photographer and Yorel as his regular returning model for Rezon’s Visible-Perfection Photo Studio.Now working on his second half of his poetry book and having finished a second story line for a movie, Yorel is also finishing his book project GreyDust. Besides that, having a successful commercial running on The Box music channel, Yorel is trying to launch his acting career in The Netherlands.
