BIOGRAPHY
QD: 2 men, 1 passion
QD are two cousins, Qino & Dealiszt (from Amsterdam, The Netherlands), forming an English-speaking R&B-duo. These two cousins from a musical family were both already rather aimed at a career in music and therefor got together in an experiment in 2004. The resulting tracks soon proved the gentlemen are well able to interact with each other and have the right chemistry. Qino, born as Quincy Chelius, is an experienced songwriter and singer with the so-called ‘chocolate’ taste, indicating the smooth and sensual style of singing. Dealiszt, the youngest of the duo, born as Fabian Remak, sings, raps, writes and produces music. Together they got to set foot on many stages and time after time amaze people with their own style in a country where music is defined as ‘derived from’. As part of X2X they have meanwhile started putting together the music for their debut-album.
Driven by their desire to make ‘urban’ music a well appreciated concept in The Netherlands and wanting to be able to convince people, both at home and abroad, and have them anticipate with their situation, the duo is very careful when it comes to forming their image. The audience therefor knows the ambitious QD as a semi-commercial, but perfectly serious music-machine.
Because the gentlemen do not only consider music an occupation, but also a habit and an expression of art, they got to make themselves familiar with several styles of music and they try to add these to each track in an original way. Every song again is a baby needing to experience the complete process of growing up and it most certainly gets enough time to do that. The styles of the songs appearing on the album vary from club-songs to bedroom-music and music to just lean back and chill out with.
QD’s shows shine of pleasure and passion, because the gentlemen do also experience them with these forms of utterance. To the audience their performances are so-called ‘eye-candy’, also due to their background-dancers and assisting mc. With their music the gentlemen hope to steal and warm as many hearts and ears as possible.
